I have been an active musician, composer and performer in the mid-Atlantic area since the 1970's, centered in my home state of Delaware. Combining a multitude of Western and Eastern compositional influences in an original blend of contemporary and traditional modes, my work has been well received and regarded by a wide array of public and private audiences.
I utilize analog and digital synthesizers, sequencers, and percussion, and have exposed audiences to the newer realms of synthesis and technology, from home-built robots to galvanic skin response and computer-driven interfaces to audio and video. Since 1991, I have been working with a group of musicians in bi-coastal musical performances and creating recordings, utilizing a custom-designed telephone line interface.
In September and October 1994, I participated with a group of artists at the River Soundings events at Fort Delaware, Peapatch Island, and on the Cape May Ferry - Delaware Bay Crossing. The result was an inspiring "sound safari", utilizing sampling techniques, hydrophones, tape loops and electronic processing of the Delaware environment and our own musical interaction. The recordings have been featured on WVUD (University of Delaware) and WXPN (University of Pennsylvania).
In 1995/96, I was a recipient of the PIAIS (Performance In An Intimate Space) Grant to perform my ballet music "China Town" at the Community Education Center. Nina Robinson was my guest dancer. Presently, I am performing in the four state area at small theater venues, art galleries, coffee shops, and book stores.
